Callaghan Park
The Rockhamption Jockey Club is steeped in history and was founded in 1868. The noted amatuer rider and doctor William Callaghan was elected the first president hence the name.
In 2010 there was a $6M track development and this investment has been ongoing to ensure the trainers oncourse get the outcome for their equine athletes.
The Rockhampton racecourse is 2000m in circumference and is renowned for it's 600m home straight. This combined with the 25 width gives every horse the opportunity to win and the track surface is one of the best in the region.
The Rockhampton Carnival is held in July and consists of the Rocky Cup and Newmarket Hcp. This annual event draws huge crowds and is hotly contested with trainers making the trip to knock off the locals.
Retirees - Wehlow Racing
